About Mariposa Girls Softball

 4U Softball is an introductory program for girls born in 2021 and 2022 (ages 3–4). It’s designed to be fun, relaxed, and development-focused. Players will only meet on Saturdays, with no practices during the week. All participants will be part of one big team, and each Saturday they’ll split up schoolyard-style to play and learn together. The focus is on the basics of softball, such as how to hold a bat, which hand the glove goes on, and how to throw the ball—building confidence, coordination, and a love for the game in a playful environment. 🥎✨ 

6U Softball is a beginner-level program for girls born in 2019 and 2020 (ages 5–6). The season is coach-pitch, designed to be fun and low-pressure, with games played only on Saturdays and no weekday practices. Players will continue developing fundamental skills such as throwing and catching, while beginning to learn game concepts like making outs, where each base is, and what each base means. The focus is on learning, confidence, teamwork, and enjoying the game of softball. 🥎

12U Softball is for girls born in 2013 and 2014 (ages 11–12). Players will have two practices per week and will work on bridging fundamentals with more advanced skills. This age group emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes, while developing core abilities such as hitting, fielding, throwing, and smart base running. The program prepares players for competitive play and fosters a lifelong love for the game in a fun, supportive environment. 🥎 

 14U Softball is for girls born in 2011–2012 (ages 13–14). Players will have two practices per week and focus on fundamentals within a full-field game setting. This age group emphasizes skill development (hitting, fielding, base running), physical fitness (speed, agility), and life skills such as sportsmanship, teamwork, mental toughness, and discipline. The program prepares players for competitive high school or advanced travel ball, while keeping the game fun and rewarding for all levels of commitment. 🥎 

16U Softball is for girls born in 2009 and 2010 (ages 15–16). Players will have two practices per week and focus on advancing skills, tactical understanding, and mental toughness. This age group prepares players for high school and college play by refining fundamentals (hitting, fielding, throwing mechanics), learning complex defensive strategies (cutoffs, relays), developing base running tactics (leading off, stealing), and fostering a strong, accountable team culture. Individual goals often target specific performance metrics such as pitch velocity or batting average, while maintaining a focus on fun. 🥎 

 Note: This age group is dependent on having enough girls to form a team(s). 

18U Softball is for girls born in 2007 and 2008 (ages 17–18). Players will have two practices per week and focus on advancing skills, tactical understanding, and mental toughness. This age group prepares players for college play by refining fundamentals (hitting, fielding, throwing mechanics), learning complex defensive strategies (cutoffs, relays), developing base running tactics (leading off, stealing), and fostering a strong, accountable team culture. Individual goals often target specific performance metrics such as pitch velocity or batting average, while maintaining a focus on fun. 🥎
